Try indoor or outdoor climbing with Quest Expeditions based in Porthcawl. Climb locally at the indoor climbing facility, along the coastline cliffs or even the mountains of the Brecon Beacons.
If it’s your first time, Quest can teach you about using basic equipment and techniques to enable you to complete your climb. Instructors will guide you through the basics of getting safely set up together with rock climbing techniques.
Quest can teach you the use of harness’s and ropes required for your climbing adventure. You will then be able to climb in an indoor sheltered facility up graded walls. The indoor site offers excellent facilities for both novice and experienced climbers.
As part of climbing up you generally have to come down, so abseiling is a necessity, Quest will teach you the fundamentals of how, once you’ve climbed to the summit, you can abseil back to the ground.
Quest can also take you into the spectacular Brecon Beacon mountains to experience rock climbing in the natural environment and after scaling the outdoor peaks, Quest will teach you how to proficiently abseil back down to earth.
Prices range from £40 upwards for a half day activity.
