Gower Surfing Development

Learn to surf on the west coast of Wales with Gower Surf Development, based out of Swansea and ideally situated close to the Gower Peninsula. GSD is a 4 star qualified British Surfing Association accredited surf school.

Surfing packages and courses can be arranged to include accommodation, equipment and transport to the gower beaches. Individual and group coaching is available with one to one or one to eight and in between.

Accommodation for your surfing adventure pretty much depends on your preference and budget, but can be anything from camping in tents and tipis, to hotels and farm guest houses, all located close to the beach. Courses are available all year round, but generally only on the weekends between November to March.

Tuition is available for half day, full day or a full weekend. Throughout the year you may find some special offers that include free days with multi day packages. The cost of all surfing courses include surfboard and wetsuit, although you are welcome to bring your own.

GSD also offer surfboard and surf equipment rental for existing customers and those who have previously had surfing lessons with a BSA school. To take part in the courses you should be able to comfortably swim at least 50 metres, although beginners only venture out waist deep into the sea.

The Gower coastline has several safe surf beaches and is therfore ideal for those just starting out surfing. One thing to note is that if you are coming surfing on the Gower for a stag or hen do, then you should ensure that you do not drink before or during the lesson.
